On the AT

This image was taken last summer on the Appalachian Trail near the Blue Mountain shelter in Georgia.  A fast moving storm had just blown across the top of the mountain leaving a mist that began to glow orange as the sun tried to break through.  I have many images, some on my website, I made in this wonderful light.  I was hiking with my little Nikon D40x.  I did not want the weight of my better cameras on the trek but do wish I had them that moment.  I believe I nearly melted the little camera down I was shooting so much.  Remember, the best camera is the one you have with you.

Take Care,
