I am a freelance photographer living with my wonderful family in Howard County, Maryland. I was born and raised in Tennessee and received a BA in Photojournalism from Western Kentucky University (GO HILLTOPPERS!!) I began my newspaper career my freshman semester of college working for a weekly in Franklin, KY. After graduating I moved around the country working for various newspapers before landing at the Carroll County Times in Westminster, MD before moving to Ocean City to work for Gannett. After leaving Gannett, I went to work for Journal Communications, Inc. in Franklin, TN. The job took me all over the country and on one of the trips, I met my future wife Karen, who is from Westminster. It wasn't long before I moved back to Maryland and began working for myself.
These days, I concentrate on architectural photography, restaurant and food photography, editorial photography and corporate photography.
A couple of college buddies and I get together each year for a hiking trip (you will see some of those images in this site), but I love hiking around Maryland with our youngest 2 daughters (our oldest has graduated college and moved to Chicago). We love the trails around Howard County and the Catoctin Mountains but for some reason, cannot talk Karen into going camping. I believe it has a lot to do with spiders.
